World War Two romantic drama. In occupied Poland, young German officer Oscar (Jonathan Scarfe) begins a relationship with Rachel (Nina Dobrev), the daughter of a local rabbi. As their friendship develops into a full-blown love affair, the star-crossed lovers become separated when the German Army begins its 'cleansing' of the Polish countryside. Believing she will never see Oscar again, Rachel, now pregnant, agrees to marry the respectable Bernard (Zachary Bennett), who aims to prove his love by raising the child as his own.
